In Greek mythology, Artemis is the goddess of chastity, the hunt, the moon, nature and animals. Her symbols are the the moon and the bow and arrow, which are always with her. She is the daughter of Zeus and Leto. As soon as she was born, Artemis assisted her mother in giving birth to her twin brother, Apollo, and so became the protector of childbirth and labor.
