Drawing Class Course Description and Information
Instructor: Kerry Allen, Professional Artist and Muralist
Course: Drawing Class – Beginner/Intermediate
Location: Hobby Lobby classroom, 5151 Citrus Ave. Harahan, LA
Fee: $195 for 6 weeks of instruction
Time: Mondays, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Enjoy learning the basics of drawing or take your current ability further! Experience a no-pressure, relaxed, fun class where you will learn drawing techniques in the realist tradition, with emphasis on individual instruction.

Drawing is the foundation of all other art forms. Developing a solid understanding of the principles of drawing will help increase proficiency in every area of artistic expression.

Using graphite and charcoal pencils and working in the realist style, this class will cover:
- drawing principles and elements of art, such as value, proportion, scale,
perspective and composition
- understanding and using graphite and charcoal pencils
- learning how to "see the way an artist sees"
- techniques and practices that you can apply to all areas of art
- the use of various drawing tools
- handouts, website, resources and more!

Skills are taught using a combination of photo references and real objects.

Class size is limited to provide all participants with individual instruction.
