Louisiana, mural, Hale Boggs Bridge, brown pelican, magnolia, Mississippi river
St. Charles Parish
Acrylic on mahogany panel
8 ft. x 6 ft.
2026

The St. Charles Parish Hospital, managed by Ochsner, commissioned this mural featuring scenes from southeast Louisiana. The Hale Boggs Bridge is prominently featured, spanning the mighty Mississippi River, as well as our state bird, the Brown Pelican, and our state flower, the magnolia. Our state tree, the Bald Cypress can be seen giving shade to a Great Egret, also a common sight in Louisiana. Another very commonly seen creature is the green turtle. Our bustling shipping industry is represented by the tugboat and barge heading upriver.

This mural hangs in the Emergency Room area, and my hope is that is brightens up the area for those who enter its doors.
