Built in 1828 in Darrow, Louisiana, this plantation was known as The Crown Jewel of River Road. At the height of it's productivity, the plantation was 300,000 acres in size, and produced 20 million pounds of sugar a year. In more recent times, it has been used as the setting for movies, such as "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte," starring Bette Davis.
